Alan Lizarraga

​Alan Lizarraga is a conservation ecologist at the University of Texas at Tyler. He has been conducting research on the Refuge since 2019, contributing to projects that support wildlife conservation and habitat stewardship. Alan’s work focuses on snake ecology and snake fungal disease, helping improve understanding of reptile health and ecosystem dynamics within the Refuge. Through both his research and board service, he is committed to protecting and promoting the natural resources of the Neches River National Wildlife Refuge.
